How to Get 50 Runecrafting

Runecrafting is a skill in "RuneScape" that allows players to turn pure or rune essence into runes. Mages use runes to perform magic spells in the Magic skill. Players can obtain pure or rune essence by mining or purchasing from the Grand Exchange. Training the Runecrafting skill is vital to training Magic. Magic is one of the most expensive skills on RuneScape; therefore having the ability to create your own runes saves a lot of money.

Instructions

Non-member Runecrafting

1. Complete the quest "Rune Mysteries." Before you start training Runecrafting, RuneScape requires that each player complete the required quest. After you are finished, you will be awarded with one Quest Point, access to the Runecrafting skill, access to the rune essence mine and an Air talisman.

2. Purchase some rune essence and an Air and Earth Tiara. Only purchase as much Rune essence as you can afford.

3. Equip the Air Tiara and fill your inventory with Rune essence. Make sure that the tiara is the only thing that you have equipped. Runecrafting requires a lot of running, so you will need to weigh as little as possible.

4. Run west toward Barbarian Village. Just before you enter the covered bridge, go south. Click the Air Ruins and enter the Runecrafting Altar. Click the Runecrafting Altar to turn your essence into Air runes.

5. Return to the Varrock West Bank, bank your Runes and retrieve more Rune essence.

6. Repeat this process until you reach level nine of Runecrafting. If you run out of Rune essence, walk to the Grand Exchange, sell your Air Runes and purchase more essence.

7. Walk to the Varrock East Bank and equip the Earth Tiara. Fill your inventory with Rune essence and walk east, out of the Varrock gate. Take the north path and walk past the musician. The Earth Altar is located directly north of the "Rare Tree" symbol on your mini-map.

8. Click the Earth Runes to enter the Runecrafting Altar. Click the Runecrafting Altar to turn your essence into Earth Runes.

9. Return to the Varrock East Bank, bank your Runes and retrieve more Rune essence.

10. Continue this process until you reach level 50. Contrary to belief, crafting Fire and Body Runes does not gain faster experience. Crafting Earth Runes is the fastest method.

Member Runecrafting

1. Complete the non-members steps until you reach level 14 Runecrafting. Unlike non-member, members have the option to use teleport tablets to accelerate Runecrafting levels. However, teleport tablets can be costly.

2. Complete the miniquest "Abyss." Talk to the Zamorak Mage in level five of the Wilderness. He is located north of the summoning obelisk in Edgeville. The Zamorak Mage will request a favor. Giving you an orb, you must teleport to the Essence Mine from any three locations. When you are finished, return to the Zamorak Mage to receive 1,000 Runecrafting xp, access to the Abyss and a small pouch. Pouches allow you to hold more essence in your inventory. If you wish, kill monsters in the Abyss to receive the medium pouch.

3. Go to the Grand Exchange and purchase a Fire Tiara, a few Amulets of Glory, Energy potions and 2,000 Rune essence. If you have level 54 Summoning, purchase a few Abyssal Parasite pouches.

4. Equip the Fire tiara, Amulet of Glory, Ring of Kingship (given to you for beginning the Dungeoneering skill) and Boots of Lightness. Walk to the Edgeville Bank and fill your pouch(es) and inventory with essence. If you have the required skill level, summon the Abyssal Parasite and fill it with essence.

5. Run north, to the Zamorak Mage and right-click him. Select "Teleport." Enter the Abyss and complete the required obstacles to enter the middle section. Walk around the middle until you see the "Fire" symbol. Click the symbol and you teleport to the Fire Altar.

6. Click the Fire Altar to craft Fire Runes. Empty your pouch(es) and Parasite to craft the essence they are holding. Right-click your Amulet of Glory and select "Edgeville." You teleport back to Edgeville Bank. Take sips of your Energy potions to restore your run. When you have used all the charges in your Amulet of Glory, you need to change amulets. When you have used all the charges of all the amulets, you must recharge them in the Heroes' Guild. Use the Ring of Kingship to teleport to the Daemonheim Bank, if you forget to change your amulet.

7. Continue this process until you reach level 27 Runecrafting.

8. Go to the Grand Exchange and sell your Fire Runes. Purchase at least 2,000 Pure essence, Energy potions, Cosmic tiara and Spotted cape. Spotted cape requires level 40 Hunter to equip.

9. Complete the "Lost City" quest to gain access to Zanaris. If possible, complete the first part of "A Fairy Tale Part II" to use the Fairy Rings.

10. Go to Zanaris. There are three ways to get to Zanaris; enter the shed in the Lumbridge Swamp using the Dramen staff, use the Fairy Rings, or use the Abyss. If you choose to use the Abyss to craft Cosmic Runes, the process is similar to crafting Fire Runes. Alternatively, you must enter the Cosmic Altar rather than the Fire Altar.

11. Walk to Zanaris Bank. Equip your Cosmic tiara, Boots of Lightness, Spotted cape and summon your familiar. Fill your pouches and familiar with Pure essence and then fill your inventory. Run east and then down the south path. If you have the required Agility level, use the Agility shortcuts to shorten the path.

12. Enter the Cosmic Altar. Click the altar to craft runes. Empty your pouches an familiar to craft the remaining runes.

13. Leave the altar and go back to the Zanaris Bank.

14. Repeat this process until you reach level 44 Runecrafting.

15. Go to the Grand Exchange and sell your crafted Cosmic Runes. Purchase at least 2,000 Pure essence, Nature tiara and a few Amulets of Glory. If you have level 57 Summoning, purchase a few Spirit Graahk pouches. Walk to the Edgeville Bank.

16. Equip the Nature tiara, Boots of Lightness, Ring of Kinship, Spotted cape and summon your familiar. If you are using an Abyssal familiar, fill it with essence. Fill your pouches and inventory with essence. There are many ways to access the Nature Altar. You can continue to use the Abyss, teleport by via Fairy Rings, or teleport via your Spirit Graahk.

17. Access the Nature Altar via the Abyss. The process is similar to crafting Fire and Cosmic runes. Alternatively, you need to enter the Nature Altar.

18. Use the Fairy Rings to access the Nature Altar. After you are fully equipped, enter C-K-R into the Fairy Rings to teleport to Karamja. Run east to the Nature Altar. Enter the altar and craft your runes. Teleport back to Edgeville Bank using your Amulet of Glory.

19. Teleport to Karamja using your Spirit Graahk. Run north and then east, past the Summoning obelisk. Run east, past the trees and find the Nature Altar to the southeast. Enter the altar, craft your runes and teleport to Daemonheim. Use the bank and restart the process. This is the fastest and most profitable way to craft Nature Runes. On average, each trip takes less than 30 seconds and you have the ability to make a profit of at least 125,000 gp per hour.

Tips & Warnings

• When crafting Earth Runes, rest at the musician between trips. This will quickly increase your running ability.

• Non-members can only craft runes up to Mind runes. Members can craft runes of any kind, assuming they have the required Runecrafting level.

• Runecrafting gloves double the amount of experience received from crafting air, water and earth runes. They are available for both members and non-member. The gloves are a reward from the minigame "Fist of Guthix." Runecrafting gloves disappear after crafting 1,000 Runes.
