With Roxio Media Creator 9 you can edit your home movies on your PC.

A DVD-Video folder is also known as a VIDEO_TS folder and is found on a DVD or hard disc. It contains valid DVD-Video source content which can be added to a project in Roxio Media Creator 9.

This tutorial gives step-by-step instructions on how to copy either the entire contents of a DVD or individual chapters using the Roxio Media Creator 9 software. This is typically done using the "Disc Copier" feature.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Roxio Media Creator 9 software program.

    • 2

In Disc Copier, click "Disc Copy" if you simply want to copy the entire contents of a disc. If you'd rather import individual chapters from a DVD, in the "Add to Project" area, select the "Import from CD/DVD" option.

    • 3

Insert the DVD disc that you want to copy into your DVD drive.

    • 4

Use the Media Selector to choose the CD/DVD drive as your source, then browse disc files to locate the DVD-Video "VIDEO_TS" folder.

For additional help with this, see page 213 of the Roxio Media Creator 9 User Manual (free PDF download at Reference 1.) Or just click "Help" in the Media Selector window.

    • 5

Select the DVD-Video chapters you want to copy to Roxio, then click "Add."

    • 6

Select the import file settings you want to use (called "Audio Tags" in Roxio Media Creator 9), and change/edit them as desired. Then click "Save."

The chapters are added to your video project.

    • 7

To rearrange chapter order, select and drag them to a new location in the project.

Tips & Warnings

  • The "Copy/Save As" button has two different options: "Copy Now" to start burning the video files immediately, and "Advanced Copy" to launch the Burn Setup dialog before copying begins. The Burn Setup dialog allows you to select additional advanced options if desired. To select either mode, click the arrow beside the "Copy/Save As" button, then select "Copy Now" or "Advanced Copy."

  • For more information on how to change tag information for each chapter, refer to page 218 in the Roxio Media Creator 9 Manual, or press F1 for the Help menu.

  • A disc containing a "VIDEO_TS" folder can be added to Roxio Media Creator 9. However, the disc cannot be copy-protected
