Change your eye color using Photoshop CS2.

In real life, you may need colored contact lenses to become a "Brown Eyed Girl" or make someone's "Brown Eyes Blue," but you can experiment with new looks quickly on screen using Adobe Photoshop CS2. The Photoshop graphics software lets you change eye color with just a couple of clicks, performing virtual makeovers in far less time than it takes to insert a colored contact lens. Test drive some new peepers before committing to contacts or just give yourself or your subjects new electronic eyes.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Photoshop CS2, click the "File" menu and click "Open." Browse to the photo with the eye color to change and double-click the file name. The picture opens in the Photoshop workspace.

    • 2

Click the "Magnify" tool, which looks like a magnifying glass on the bottom of the "Tools" palette and zoom in on one of the eyes.

    • 3

Click the "Lasso" tool and draw an outline around the colored part of the eyeball. When you see blinking dotted lines, right-click inside them and select "Layer via Copy."

    • 4

Click the "Image" menu, click "Adjustments" and select "Hue/Saturation." Move the "Hue" slider bar to the left or right to recolor the eye. Note the number in the "Hue" box and click the "OK" button.

    • 5

Click the "Window" menu and select "Layers." The "Layers" palette opens. You'll see two layers: your original whole photo on the "Background" layer and the single eye on "Layer 1." Click the "Background" layer which highlights it in blue.

    • 6

Repeat the "Lasso" and "Layer via Copy" process, which adds a new "Layer 2" to the palette. Click "Image," "Adjustments" and "Hue/Saturation" again, but instead of sliding the "Hue" bar, type in the number. This ensures that you get the eyes exactly the same color. Click "OK."

    • 7

Click the small lined icon at the top-right of the "Layers" palette and select "Flatten Image." All three layers combine into one.

    • 8

Click the "File" menu, click "Save As" and type a new name for the photo to preserve the original image, in case you want to access it in the future.
