1
Place one of the 4-by-4-inch posts at the corner of the lumber sheet. Align the corner of the post with the corner of the lumber sheet, so the edges are flush with one another. The 4-by-4-inch posts will act as the legs of the bench.

2
Attach the post to the lumber sheet with 4-inch nails. Hammer the nails through the lumber sheet. Ensure the heads of the nails are flush with the top of the lumber sheet to prevent them from catching on the cushions.

3
Repeat Steps 1 and 2 with the other three 4-by-4-inch posts and the lumber sheet. Ensure that each post is flush with the edges of the lumber sheet so the bench sits evenly on the ground.

Choose cushions that complement the colors and patterns of your home. Place the cushions on the bench to make it more comfortable.
-
5
Attach the cushions to the bench with a staple gun. Place staples through the edges of the cushions to attach them to the bench. This will keep the cushions from falling or sliding off the bench while in use.
