Instructions

    • 1

Turn off power to the circuit or area in which you will be installing and connecting your KitchenAid electric range.

    • 2

Strip away all of the packing materials around and inside the range unit. Remove any strips of tape inside and out, along with the racks, hardware, accessories and literature. Remove the lower storage drawer at the base of the range by sliding it out fully, setting it aside where it won't be damaged.

    • 3

Arrange the four cardboard packing feet behind the range, stacking them in pairs on each side of the range back near the top.

    • 4

Lift and tilt the range onto its back with one person standing on each side of the range and gently positioning it onto the cardboard blocks until stable. Pull out the cardboard or fiberboard sheet from the bottom of the range.

    • 5

Loosen the four leveling legs evenly with an adjustable wrench so that they move freely. Lay the cardboard or hardboard sheet taken from the underside of the range in front of the range. Lift the range upright so it rests atop the cardboard.

    • 6

Adjust the height of the range to match the surrounding counter top height by loosening or tightening the four leveling legs as needed with a wrench.

    • 7

Install the anti-tip bracket at the rear of the range on the wall or floor behind the right or left rear leg. Use the two number 12 screws provided with the range hardware, and a Phillips-head screwdriver or drill to secure it.

    • 8

Slide the range back towards the wall roughly halfway, and remove the cardboard from underneath.

    • 9

Return racks to the oven, sliding them along the grooves until they stop and do not interfere with the operation of the range door. Set a level on the top rack first parallel with the oven opening, and then perpendicular to the opening. Adjust the legs further to make the range plumb, if needed.

    • 10

Plug the 40-amp power supply cord attached to the range into a grounded electrical outlet.

    • 11

Slide the range all the way back to the wall, hooking the right or left rear leg into the anti-tip bracket you installed earlier.

    • 12

Restore electrical power to the circuit and begin range operation.

Tips & Warnings

  • Should you wish not to use the supplied electrical power cord, consult a certified electrician to handle the direct wiring of the range to your power supply, in keeping with all state and local building and safety codes.
