Instructions

    • 1

Apply an herbicide suitable for invasive vines to the green vines and leaves during early summer. This will ensure that the plant is not dormant, so the herbicide will travel through the plant and into the root system. Follow the instructions on the packaging completely to ensure the best result and safety.

    • 2

Pull newly sprouted vines as they appear in the spring. Pulling the vines from the ground will be easier after a rain when the soil is moist.

    • 3

Cut mature vines with hedge clippers to prevent them from choking out other plants, trees and bushes.

    • 4

Mow patches of honeysuckle vines with a lawnmower to remove the bulk of above-ground foliage.

    • 5

Dig roots from the ground with a rototiller or even by hand with a shovel. Dispose of the roots in leaf and lawn-disposal bags.
