How to Print Envelopes on a Printer
For a professional look and feel, print your envelopes on your home printer. It will give them a professional image if you are starting your own business or sending resumes to prospective employers. You can print a single envelope or create mass mailings. The simplest way to accomplish this task is by using your word processing software such as Microsoft Word.

Open a new document in Microsoft Word. Under the mailings tab, select "Create." Under that menu, select "Envelopes." This opens a template.

Type in the address and return address in the designated boxes. You can also adjust the font and size in this menu.

Load an envelope in your printer according to the instructions found in your user's manual. Click on "Print" in the Envelope template and, when prompted, set the return address as the default if you wish. Once you have made this choice, the envelope will print.

Tips & Warnings
Only use high quality envelopes. They will load into the printer better, eliminating misfeeds.
Use a clear font such as Aria or Times when printing your envelopes. Set the font to a legible size, such as 12 or 14.
Always add the stamp to the envelope last, after you confirm that the envelope printed correctly.
Never feed an envelope with a metal clasp into a printer.
You may need to print a few trials before getting a satisfactory envelope.
