How to Change the Transmission Fluid in a Ford Explorer

The Ford Explorer is a mid-size SUV with a six- or eight-cylinder engine. The transmissions on these models are not the same and use differing amounts of transmission fluid. Both still use standard, Type-F Ford transmission fluid. The transmission fluid can be bought at any auto parts store for close to $20. It is not a difficult task and can be completed in approximately 30 minutes.
