This task does not require any tools.

The 1998 Lexus ES300, like any other automobile, has turn signal lights that will eventually burn out. Police officers issue tickets when your car's lights aren't in proper working order. Other drivers will also have absolutely no way of knowing that you are about to make a turn or which direction your vehicle will move next. This causes the potential of a serious safety risk, so it is essential to replace broken or dull bulbs as soon as you realize there is a problem.

Instructions

    • 1

Determine which bulbs require replacement. It is often best to change out all the bulbs at once to ensure they are all in working order.

    • 2

Open the hood, if the turn signal bulbs in the front require replacement. Prop the hood up using the support rod.

    • 3

Open the trunk for rear turn lights, and find the knob that sits directly behind the turn signal light. Rear turn signal lights require removal of a plastic cover that sits over the light to get to the knob. It is held in place with clips, pop them out using your fingers.

    • 4

Turn the knob counterclockwise until it comes out and set it aside. Rotate the damaged bulb until it comes out completely.

    • 5

Screw the new turn signal bulb into the assembly. Push the assembly back into its original position.

    • 6

Return the knob to its original position and turn it clockwise to secure the assembly in place. Replace the plastic cover if applicable and close the trunk or the hood.
