How to Donate Cell Phone Accessories
Cell phones and cell phone accessories can take up valuable space in your home or office, particularly if you like to upgrade to the newest model. If you find yourself with old cell phone batteries, chargers, cases and headphone sets, keep the material out of landfills and put it to good use. Oftentimes, local charities can use the items or cell phone recyclers can refurbish them and donate sale proceeds to charity.

Search ReCellular for a cell phone donation box near you. Take your cell phone accessories to a nearby drop box and place them inside. Your phone accessories will be refurbished, if necessary, then donated to one of ReCellular's many partner organizations, such as the March of Dimes or Cell Phones for Soldiers.

Contact your town's recycling or solid waste division and ask about electronics recycling or donation options. As the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency notes, many towns have cell phone and cell phone accessory donation or recycling programs. Get the contact information for local programs, then take your items to their drop-off location.

Check with local nonprofits to see whether they need cell phone accessories. For example, phone chargers could be used for animal rescue operations, domestic violence outreach or suicide prevention hotlines.
