How to Reset a Nextar X4-T

The Nextar X4-T is a mountable GPS unit. It has several features including a 4.3-inch touch screen, backlit display for night guidance, maps for 50 states, speaker with voice guidance and an MP3 and picture player. From time to time, one or more features may stop working as the result of a unit malfunction. Typically, the source of the malfunction is static/electrical or other interference. When this happens, you need to reset or reboot the unit to try to correct the issue.

Instructions

1. Unplug your Nextar X4-T GPS AC or car adapter power cord from the power source. If the unit isn't plugged in via the power cord --- you're using the internal built-in battery only --- plug the unit into a direct-wired electrical source, turn it on, wait five minute and then pull the plug.

2. Plug the unit back into the power source.

3. Turn on the unit. If the X4-T isn't working, unplug it again, wait five minutes, plug it in and turn it on. If it still won't work, unplug the unit again and contact Nextar technical support by phone, Web form e-mail or online chat. (See Resources)
