How to Mount Leupold Quick Release Rings

How to Mount Leupold Quick Release Rings thumbnail
Many rifle scopes can be quickly removed or attached with a simple modification.

Leopold cross-slot style scope rings give you the option of quickly attaching or removing your scope from a rifle equipped with a Weaver-style rail base. Most military-type rifles, as well as many sporting rifles, come with Weaver bases pre-installed. Leopold scope mounts are compatible with the majority of commercial rifle scopes and are not limited to use with only Leupold scopes. The only tool required to mount your scope rings is an Allen wrench, which is supplied with the rings.

Instructions

    • 1

Separate the halves of the scope rings by unscrewing the retention screws, on either side of the rings, using your Allen wrench. Place the ring's upper halves and the screws aside.

    • 2

Place your scope into the lower halves of the rings, put the top halves on top of the scope and screw the retention rings back in, but do not tighten them all the way.

    • 3

Position the rings along the body of the scope so that they securely hold the scope and so the bases line up with the slots in the mount base. When your scope is properly positioned, finish tightening the screws.
