Some Items Cannot Be Copied in Outlook 2007

You may receive an error message when trying to copy emails in Outlook 2007.

Outlook 2007 is one of the most popular desktop email programs among professionals who use PC computers. While using Outlook 2007, you may attempt to copy or move a large number of messages and receive an error message that stating that some items could not be copied. This problem may also occur when using the AutoArchive system. Copying errors usually indicate an issue with the number of emails you are trying to move or the destination folder where you are moving them.

Things You'll Need

• PC running Windows XP or later
• Microsoft Outlook 2007

Instructions

1. Restart the Outlook application and attempt the copy command again. Sometimes, simply closing and opening Outlook 2007 can resolve copying problems.

2. Try to copy a single message to your destination folder. Once this is successful, highlight 20 to 30 messages at a time and copy them to the destination folder. Outlook 2007 may produce an error when you try to copy a large number of emails, so it is best to use smaller groups of messages.

3. Go to the "File" menu, expand the "New" submenu and select "Outlook Data File." You may receive copying errors if your destination folder is full or close to capacity. To resolve this problem, create a new data file to use as your destination folder.

4. Highlight "Office Outlook Personal Folders File (.pst)" and press "OK."

5. Enter a name for your new Outlook data files and press "OK" again.

6. Copy the desired email messages to the new data file you just created.
