How to Test Email Servers
An email server helps you communicate with the outside world. However, if your email servers have been disabled by hackers, or a glitch or software problem is causing difficulties, your messages won't be sent. Also, messages won't come in if there is something wrong with the server. It is easy to test email servers to make sure that they are working and sending emails correctly.

Send an email to clients through your email server. If it is working properly, you shouldn't get any bounce backs.

Send an email to yourself at another address, through the server. If you get the email and there aren't any problems with it, you can be assured that the email server is working correctly.

Input the email server information into an online Email Server tester, listed in references. The test will return information about the server and will help you determine whether or not the email server is working correctly.
