Baby Bottle Warmer Instructions

Baby Bottle Warmer Instructions thumbnail
Most babies like a warm bottle.

No matter what's in the baby's bottle---baby formula or breast milk---most babies will drink it more readily if it is warm. To keep milk fresh, it must be stored in the refrigerator or freezer until it is needed. Warming the bottle before giving it to an infant makes the milk similar to body temperature, and might make it more palatable for baby. If you are new to the process of warming a bottle, make sure the bottle is the right temperature and not too hot. A bottle warmer helps in this process by evenly heating the bottle.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug the bottle warmer up to a power source in your home.

    • 2

Place the bottle in the warmer.

    • 3

Pour water in the warmer around the bottle. Add the amount listed in the instructions for you warmer brand. If you fill it too high and it spills out, it will be okay. Just wipe up the spill.

    • 4

Turn on the warmer and wait the allotted time. Warmers take from two to five minutes to heat a bottle.

    • 5

Test the milk before giving it to you child, once the timer is up on the warmer. If refrigerated, the milk might still be cool, or it could have gotten too hot. It is better to test it on your wrist than burn your child. If it feels warm on your wrist without being hot, then it is fine for the child.
