How to Reset Parental Controls on D11 Receivers

With the wide variety of programming a satellite company offers, some shows simply will not be appropriate for your children. DirecTV makes resetting parental controls on D11 receivers intuitive and quick. By default, your DirecTV parental controls reset to "Allow All." You must go through each category to reset parental controls on your standard receiver.

Instructions

1. Navigate to parental controls by pressing "Menu" on your DirecTV remote and choosing "Parental Control, Favs, and Setup." Select "Parental Controls," then "Edit Settings."

2. Look at current settings you have enabled. This will list every parental control you have. Because "Unlocked" is the default state, you must remove all setting if you want to reset your parental controls.

3. Click "Adult Channels" and press select. If you want to reset your parental controls, press "Show Adult." If you want to block adult channels again, simply toggle between "Show Adult" and "Hide Adult."

4. Click "Ratings" to reset your movie and TV ratings. Select the rating limit you wish to impose. You can filter out language, sexual content and violence.

5. Choose "Channel Blocks" to prevent your child from viewing forbidden channels. If you want to reset this feature, navigate to "Allow All" to remove channel restrictions.
