How to Make Fold Out Photo Cards
There are a number of sites online where you can create and order photo greeting cards. These sites can get expensive. Folded cards can range from $1 per card to $3 per card. You are also limited in your options with one of these cards. The less expensive cards allow very little customization. Creating photo greeting cards from scratch on your home computer is a great way cut the cost of the cards and to get exactly the design you want. Use any word processing software to create your one-of-a-kind fold out photo card.

1
Open a new document in your word processing software. Select 'File' and 'Page Setup.' Choose custom sized paper from the drop down menu. Look on the cardstock packaging. Enter the dimensions of the paper size. Click 'Apply.'
-
2
Click on 'Insert' and then 'Picture' to add photos to your card. Select the photos from a file on your computer.

3
Size and arrange the photos to create your layout. Follow the pictures and instructions on the cardstock packaging to determine what part of the document will become the front and back of the card once printed. You will need to create all four pages of your card, the front, both inside pages and the back. Consult the cardstock instructions to determine which page in your software will correspond to which part of the card.

4
Adjust the size of the photo by clicking on the center of the photo. A border will appear on the outside of the photo. Drag the edge of the photo with your mouse to make it smaller or larger.
-
5
Add text to your card. You can type the text directly onto the card or click 'Insert' and then 'Text box' to position your text on the page. This feature will allow you to position the photo anywhere on the page, including over the photo. Type text in the card.
-
6
Change the font sizes, colors and styles using the toolbar at the top of your screen.
-
7
Print a sample page. Confirm that the card will fit on the cardstock and will fold properly. Adjust the photos and text as needed.
-
8
Place the cardstock in the printer so the images will print on the front of the card first. Print your finalized cards. Let the ink dry. Flip the cards over and print the text on the inside of the cards.
