Instructions

    • 1

Check the electrical outlet's wattage capacity, which should be a minimum of 1,200 watts. Unplug any other high-wattage electrical appliances from the wall outlet before plugging in the Sunbeam Steam Master Iron.

Run the self-cleaning feature. Unplug the iron, move the steam lever to release any debris from the valve and fill the reservoir with water up to the "max" line. Plug the iron in, set the control dial to "linen," and allow the iron to heat for two minutes. Unplug the iron and hold it in a horizontal position over a sink. Press the self-clean button, keeping your finger on the button. Rock the iron back and forth over the sink for one minute so that all of the water circulates while releasing. Release the self-clean button, take off the reservoir cap, and pour out any excess water. Pat the soleplate dry with a towel after it has cooled, plug in the iron and set the control to "linen" and allow it to heat for two minutes. Turn off the iron and unplug.

Clean the anti-calcium filter to clean out any impurities in the iron's water reservoir. Unplug the iron and let it cool. Fill the Steam Master's water-measuring cup with 3/4 cup of water and 1 tsp. salt. Pour into the water reservoir and let the solution remain for 15 minutes, shaking the iron several times during this period. Empty the water reservoir and repeat with the saltwater solution for another 15 minutes, shaking several times. Empty the water reservoir and fill with fresh water. Repeat as necessary.
