JVC Car CD Player Instructions

JVC Car stereos require some basic programming to function properly.

Whether installed in your car at time or purchase, or if you choose to install it later, learning to properly operate your JVC CD player is important. There is programming that needs to be done as well as settings that need to be adjusted.

1. Turn on the unit on by pressing the "Power" button at the top left-hand corner of the stereo.

2. Change the display's color by pressing the "Color" switch. This button is on the left-hand side of the unit's volume-control dial.

3. Set the clock by pressing the button marked "Menu". Pressing the volume-control dial will allow the selection for the hour of day. Press and continue to hold this dial while simultaneously turning it in order to change the hours indicated in the field. Once the correct hour has been reached and is displayed in the field, release the dial. Again, press this knob in order to select the appropriate minutes in the display. Pres and continue to hold the dial while making adjustments to the minutes field. Once the correct value for minutes is displayed, release the knob.

4. Press the "Menu" selector to move over to the tuner selections. The buttons for "seek" can be used to tune to the desired frequency. Press and continue to hold this "Menu" button while simultaneously turning the control knob for the volume to designated the station's preset number. Once this number is assigned, press the control knob for the volume until "MEMORY" is displayed. This indicates that the desired frequency has been correctly stored. Repeat these steps to set up to 18 preset frequencies.

5. Select a sound mode that has been preset by pressing the button labeled EQ. You will have the option of choosing USER, CLASSC, HIP HOP, JAZZ, ROCK, and POPS. When you release the EQ selector, the sound mode you have chosen will be displayed.

6. Set a tone customized for your music by choosing USER from the list of preset sound modes. Then, press and do not release the "Menu" button while turning the volume-control knob to adjust the tone. Choices include treble, bass and middle. Press the control knob for the volume selector once the desired tone is displayed. Turn the knob to adjust the tone. When finished, release the knob. Turn the knob to navigate to a new tone. Again, press the control while turning it to adjust the tone.
