How to Send Rupees From India to Singapore

Rupees are most quickly transferred electronically.

When you need to transfer money from a bank account in India to one in Singapore, or if you need to get cash to a friend or family member in Singapore, you have a few options of sending rupees. Electronic options are the most efficient ways of sending rupees, but they are not the only way to get the job done.

Instructions

1. Complete a direct bank transfer. Your bank or the recipient's bank may charge international transfer fees. The rupees will likely be exchanged into Singapore dollars. Axis Bank and HSBC Bank are two banks that offer India-to-Singapore money transfers. (See References 1 and 2.)

2. Send money using an international wire transfer service. Some services allow you to send money via the phone or Internet. Ensure that the wire service you choose has operations in Singapore so the person you are sending money to is able to go to one of its facilities and pick up the money. Wire transfer services will charge fees, so find one with the lowest fees available.

3. Send a demand bank draft for a certain amount of rupees via mail or courier service to the person in Singapore. This will take some more time, but it is another option to electronic money transfer services, which may only take a few hours or a couple of days.
