Stop drinking alcohol. This should be fairly obvious, but the only way you can start sobering up is to put down your drink.
-
2
Count the number of drinks you've consumed. To estimate your blood alcohol content, use the following measures for "one drink": a 12-ounce beer, 4 ounces of wine or a 1-ounce shot of 80-proof liquor.

3
Wait one hour for every drink to pass. If you've been drinking for two hours and had one drink an hour, your blood alcohol content should return to its normal level an hour after your last drink.
-

Wait however many hours you will have to based on the calculation in the last two steps. Eat food and drink water to help you sober up and become more alert. The food will help soak up some of the alcohol, and the water will keep you from becoming dehydrated.
