How to Install DYMO LabelWriter

The DYMO LabelWriter is a small form factor printer specifically designed to print 40 different label styles. This printer can print from Microsoft Word and other programs directly, using plug-ins. The DYMO LabelWriter is a thermal printer, so it does not need ink cartridges or toner.

        Plug the LabelWriter into power. Press the button on the front of the LabelWriter to expel the protective labels. Pull the top cover of the DYMO LabelWriter open. Take out any additional packaging material left over from shipment.

        Pull the spool(s) out of the printer. Some LabelWriters have one spool and others have two, so take out all of them. Pull the spool apart. Thread the label paper onto the spool and put the right guide in place. The label paper should be pressing slightly against both sides of the spool. Reinsert the spool. The label paper should be coming out of the bottom of the spool. Slide the paper into the printing slot. Close the cover.

        Insert the software disk into your computer. Click "Install" or "Run." Click "OK." Click "Next" and "I Agree." Click "Next." Click "Finish."

        Connect your DYMO LabelWriter to your computer's USB port. Windows installs the proper drivers for the printer and you can use it through LabelWriter or compatible programs.
