How to Remove an Outside Door Knob
Outside door knobs are knobs used to lock entryway doors. These doors are either solid wood or fiberglass. The door knob is positioned so that the keyhole is facing the outside. On the inside, there is a button which is either turned or pushed to lock the door. The screws holding the doorknob in place should always be located on the interior side of the door. Removing the doorknob is a simple process that should only take about 10 minutes. Does this Spark an idea?

Remove the two screws on the inside portion of the doorknob with a screwdriver.

Slide the doorknobs out of the door in opposite directions. All that should be left in the door is the latch.

Remove the two screws holding the latch in place. There will be one screw above the latch and one below it. Slide the latch out of the door.

Unscrew the screws holding the old strike plate in place and remove it. The strike plate is the piece located on the doorjamb, into which the latch clicks.
