How to Change the Lamp on a Mini Maglite AA

The Mini Maglite AA comes with a spare lamp, so it's unlikely you'll need to purchase a new lamp when it's time to replace it--unless, of course, you have already used the spare lamp. Replacing the lamp (also called a bulb) on the Mini Maglite AA is a simple procedure that shouldn't take you longer than about five minutes. It's not much more difficult than simply replacing the battery, once you know the location of the lamp and the spare lamp.

Things You'll Need

• Bulb number LM2A001 (comes with flashlight)
• Gloves

Instructions

1. Bring the Mini Maglite AA to a table or workbench. This ensures that you have a place to put the pieces as you take the Maglite apart. Put on clean gloves.

2. Unscrew the end cap on the handle portion of the Mini Maglite AA. You'll see the battery spring on the inside part of the end cap.

3. Pull the battery spring off. Behind it you'll find the spare bulb. Pull it out and place the battery spring back in place. Screw the end cap back on.

4. Unscrew the head (lens side) of the Mini Maglite AA. You'll immediately see the lamp. Pull the old lamp out.

5. Insert the new lamp into its place. Replace the head and screw it back on. Push the "On" button to test the flashlight. It should be working correctly.
