How to Test Your TV to See If it Will Work With Digital Cable
All televisions are able to receive programming from a digital cable receiver, including analog-based sets. The digital cable receiver works just like a digital converter box and adjusts the signal so an older television system is able to view the programming (digital converter boxes are only for analog-based sets using an antenna). If you are curious whether your TV is able to receive the programming, perform a single hookup to see if the TV picks up the audio and video signal. You shouldn't have any problems performing this test.

Press the "Video" option on the TV and the programming from the connected equipment loads onto the screen. When changing the station, you must use the provided cable receiver's remote control.
