How to Use Deamon Tools Lite

Daemon Tools Lite is software that can be used to create disk images from a hard disk. The program can also be used to mount and run these images virtually without having a physical drive to load them on. This simple-to-install program is easy to set up and actually does what the creators promise it will do.

Instructions

    • 1

      Right-click on the red icon with a white lightening bolt in your task bar. This is the Daemon Tools Lite program shortcut.

      Select the option that says Disc Imaging in the right-click menu. Insert the disc you want to make an image of into your computer's disc drive.

      Choose the device containing the disc from the drop down menu in the Disc Imaging window. Click Start to change the image settings according to imaging details, file type and destination.

      Click Save and wait for the program to finish writing the disc image onto your computer. You can remove the disc from your computer drive when this is finished.

      Right-click the Daemon Tools Lite icon again and select the Virtual Device or Virtual CD/DVD-ROM option. Choose Device 0 unless you have created a second device that you want to use.

      Choose the disc image that you want to load from your computer and wait for Daemon Tools Lite to load the image as a virtual drive.

      Open your hard drive and select the virtual drive that Daemon Tools Lite loaded. This will launch the image as if you were using the actual disc.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can create up to four virtual drives so you can load your favorite drives simultaneously.

  • Do not use Daemon Tools Lite as a means to use illegal or stolen versions of games or other media.
