How to Reprogram a Honda Remote Key Fob

If you need to reprogram the remote key fob for your Honda vehicle, you do not need to drive down to the dealership and pay them to do it for you. All Honda remote key fobs use the same set of instructions for reprogramming. So if you had to replace the battery on your key fob and now need to reprogram it, you can do it yourself.

Instructions

1. Unlock all the car doors. Enter your vehicle, insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On," or second, position.

2. Press either the "Lock" or the "Unlock" button on the key fob; it doesn't matter which one you press. Turn the ignition key to the "Off" position then turn it back to the "On" position. Repeat this step three times in a row.

3. Push the "Lock" or "Unlock" button on the key fob again. The power locks of your vehicle will cycle to indicate that you have entered the programming mode.

4. Press the "Lock" button on the key fob within 10 seconds of entering the programming mode. Turn the ignition key to the "Off" position to exit the programming mode.
