DIY Truck Bedliner
Many trucks today come with bed liners already in them. But some older trucks or more affordable trucks do not come with bed liners. Bed liners protect a truck bed from scratches, dings and dents that come with use. Water gets into scratches and turns the metal underneath into rust. A professionally installed bed liner is a thicker, higher quality liner than one you can install from home. But doing it yourself saves money while protecting the truck bed.

1
Scrub the bed with soap and water to remove all dirt and wax. Rinse with water and allow it to dry.
-
2
Sand the entire bed of the truck with an electric sander to rough up the surface.
-
-
3
Use painter's tape to carefully mask the edges of the bed where you don't want the bed liner to go.
-
4
Put a pan liner into the paint pan and pour in the primer. Dip a paint roller into the primer and evenly cover the bed of the truck with the primer. Allow to dry thoroughly.
-
5
Toss the paint pan liner and put a fresh one in the paint pan. Discard the roller cover and put a new one on. Pour the finishing paint into the pan. Dip the paint roller into the paint pan and evenly spread the finishing paint all over the bed of the truck. Allow to dry thoroughly.
