Step-by-Step Instructions on How to Create a Splash Screen for a Website Using Flash Drawings
Rather than stare at pieces of an incomplete web page as it gradually comes to life, you can provide your visitors with a splash screen, which is a visually rich animation that plays while the HTML code, scripts, animations and images of your website download in the background. While entertaining--and perhaps informative--to visitors, a splash screen prohibits search engines from indexing your website, and adds to its size. You can create a splash screen with HTML and CSS, Java, JavaScript or Flash.

Select the first layer (which contains the first letter of the splash screen) and from the "Tween" drop-down menu, choose "Shape." In Frame 10 of the timeline, choose "Insert" > "Timeline" > "Keyframe." In Frame 20 of the timeline, choose "Insert" > "Timeline" > "Keyframe." In the Toolbar, click the "Selection" tool and click on the letter. Choose "Window" > "Design Panels" > "Transform." Enter "200 percent." Repeat for each letter of the splash screen, but add an offset of 10 keyframes from the keyframe location of the previous letter.

4
In the last frame of the last layer, choose "Window" > "Actions." In the Frame Action field, choose "+", "Basic Actions," "Stop."
-
