Connect your Creative ZEN MP3 player to your computer and leave it to charge for at least four hours. If your player will not turn on, it is possible that the battery has died. The first USB charge of your MP3 player may take a full night to reach maximum charge.

Reformat your player. To do this, turn the device off, then turn it back on while holding the "Play" button. Release the button when you see the Creative logo. Select "Format (All)" and click "Yes" to wipe the device. Select "Reboot" when finished, then connect your device to your computer to re-sync your files.

Verify that the files you are attempting to play are in a supported file format. The Creative ZEN MP3 player can play audio in the following formats: MP3 (Up to 320 kbps), WMA (Up to 320 kbps), WMA with PlaysForSure Digital Rights Management, WAV (PCM and IMA ADPCM) and AAC (non-protected .M4A).

Check the volume on the player. If the volume is turned up and you cannot hear your audio, verify that your headphones are connected to the headphone port correctly. You can also try a different pair of headphones to assess whether the problem is your headphones or MP3 player.

Try to play the audio files you wish to listen to on your PC. If they are corrupt and will not play on your computer, the Creative ZEN MP3 player will be unable to play them.
