If you are receiving unwanted and annoying SMS text messages, you can block those text messages through BlackBerry's built-in firewall option. The firewall allows you to block any text messages from individuals who are not a part of your contacts. That way, you will be able to block undesired spam text messages. Setting up your BlackBerry to block unwanted text messages is simple, and the process takes only a few minutes to complete.

      Click the trackball to select "Settings." The "Settings" icon is represented by a wrench tool.

      Click the "Options" icon, which is also represented by a wrench tool. Scroll down to "Security Options" and then click the trackball on your BlackBerry. Under "Security Options," click "Firewall" using your trackball.

      Choose your firewall options. To block unwanted SMS texts, click the "SMS" and "MMS" option under "Status" and then click "Contacts" under "Accept Messages From." This will block messages from people who are not located in your contacts. Click the "Menu" key option to highlight and click "Save" using your trackball.
