If you would like to access over 6,000 DirecTV on-demand titles, web-based applications like Facebook, DirecTV2PC or multimedia sharing, you must connect your receiver to the Internet. To use interactive features, you must have a D10, R15 or HR20 or newer and a high-speed Internet connection.

      Plug your Internet router into an electrical outlet. Insert an Ethernet cable into one end of the router.

      Connect the opposite end of the Ethernet cable into the receiver. The Ethernet port is found on the back of your receiver.

      Configure your connection by choosing "Configure Now" on your TV and follow the on-screen prompts. Press "Menu" on your receiver remote and choose "Parental, Favorites & Setup." Select "Network" and "Connect Now" to finish the installation.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can determine your receiver model by using your DirecTV remote. Press "Menu," "Settings" and "Info and Test."

  • Connecting your receiver also allows your or a family member to make Pay Per View charges through your remote. To restrict this, click "Parental Controls" and set a customized Pay Per View limit.
