How to Remove a Bluescreen

For people who own a Windows computer, nothing is quite as scary as seeing the Blue Screen of Death emerge on your screen. This is a sign that something is wrong with your PC such as a corrupt file or your computer has been infected by a virus. Whichever the case is, you need to remove the blue screen first before you can fix the issue in your computer.

Instructions

    • 1

Read everything that it says on the screen. You may get an idea of what is wrong with your PC by reading what is in the screen.

    • 2

Start your computer in "Safe Mode." Restart your computer and as soon as the computer boots, press the "F8" key immediately. Press the button repeatedly. It may not work in the first few attempts but continue pressing the button until your computer is in Safe Mode. You will see the words "Safe Mode" on top of the screen.

    • 3

Click on the words "Safe Mode." A window will open with choices for Operating Systems. Choose the operating system that you have installed in your computer such as Windows 7 or Vista.

    • 4

Watch as the screen loads all the drivers in your system. When the screen finished loading, the "Log On" screen will appear.

    • 5

Log on to the Administrator account. You may need to enter a password so make sure you have the password that you need. A window will open asking if you want to run a diagnostic test. Click the "Yes" button.

    • 6

Click the "Start Menu" button and select "Control Panel." From the list, select "System and Maintenance" and then click "Hardware and Sound." Then select "Device Manager."

    • 7

Look at the list of all the devices on your computer. Find the device that is listed on the top of the Blue Screen. Click "uninstall."

    • 8

      Restart your computer.
