How to Remove Windows Messenger From System Tray

Windows Live Messenger is a communication program that allows you to chat with other users all around the world. By default, the program's icon is usually on the system tray where you can log on and chat with your family and friends anytime you want. If you are currently not using Windows Live Messenger and want to clear its icon from the system tray, you can remove it.

Instructions

1. Locate the Windows Live Messenger icon on the system tray.

2. Right-click the icon and click "Exit." The icon is removed from the system tray.

3. Click the "Start" menu and click the "Control Panel" if you want to remove the application completely. Click "Uninstall a Program" and double-click "Windows Live Messenger." When prompted, click "Yes" to confirm and remove the application.
