Easiest Way to Transfer VHS to DVD
Capturing memories on video can be a special way to relive all of those great times. However, if those memories were captured on VHS tapes, it can be tricky to find VCRs to play the tapes. Converting the VHS tapes to DVDs can be a great way to preserve your video. It can be hard finding a convenient way to convert those tapes, but if you have a VCR and a DVD recorder, you can easily do just that.

3
Put the VHS video into the VCR and either rewind the video to the very beginning or get it to the spot about 5 seconds from where you want to start recording. When you are at the spot you want, press the "Play" button on the VCR, and then immediately press the "Pause" button on the VCR.
-
4
Put the blank disk into the DVD recorder. Press the "Record" button on the DVD recorder and then press the "Pause" button on the DVD recorder. You are now synced up and ready to begin recording.
-
5
Press the "Play" button on the VCR (or re-press the "Pause" button to continue playing the video, depending on how your VCR works) to resume playing your tape. About 5 seconds later (or however much leeway you gave yourself from your start point on the VHS), press the "Record" button (or re-press the "Pause" button) on your DVD recorder to begin the conversion.
-
6
Continue recording until either the tape is finished or you reach a good stopping point in the video. Press the "Stop" button on the DVD recorder and VCR. Play the DVD on your computer or DVD player to make sure the conversion was successful.
