How to Reset an Ademco Alarm System

Resetting your alarm code every so often is always a good idea if for no other reason than to keep it hard to guess for any criminal types who may be eying your abode. Resetting your alarm system--at least in the case of the Ademco line of alarms--is a relatively simple process, requiring you to only enter the current master alarm plus a few extra keystrokes.

Instructions

1. Punch your existing master code into the Ademco alarm box.

2. Push the "8" button, then the "0" and "2" buttons immediately after entering the master code. This resets the code and prompts you to enter a new code.

3. Enter a new master code into the alarm box; then enter the same code again. The Ademco alarm system master code is now changed to the new code.
