      Wait until the weeds to start growing in the spring to apply Scotts Weed and Feed. The provides a boost of nutrition as the grass comes out of its dormant phase while killing emerged dandelions and other major lawn weeds.

      Adjust the fertilizer spreader to the suggested settings furnished on the back of the product's bag. The settings vary depending on the manufacturer and model of the spreader.

      Move the spreader across the lawn while the lawn is wet. Mark the lawn as you spread the weed and feed to prevent overlaps or missed strips. Apply the Scotts Weed and Feed no more than two times per growing season.

Tips & Warnings

  • The ideal condition for applying Scotts Turf Builder with Plus Weed Control to a wet lawn is in the late spring when the grass and weeds have started growth but before the plants mature.

  • Some lawn grasses are closely related to the weeds killed by the Scotts weed and feed products. Do not use the Scotts Turf Builder products that include weed control components on lawns that include carpet grass, lippie, dichondra, St. Augustinegrass, bentgrass or floratam unless the intent is to kill those grasses in favor of other lawn grasses.
