How to Repair Sonic RecordNow

Sonic RecordNow is an application that allows you to burn CDs and DVDs containing formats such as MP3, WAV and AVI. Repairing Sonic RecordNow requires troubleshooting. When problems arise in this software, they likely are due to hardware problems or conflicting software. The symptoms of a malfunctioning Sonic RecordNow range from disc error messages to unresponsiveness. You can have Sonic RecordNow back to normal with a few procedures.

Instructions

1. Press the Windows button. Right-click "Computer" and click "Properties." Click "Device Manager." Expand "DVD/CD-ROM Drives." Right-click the drive that shows up under "DVD/CD-ROM Drives" and select "Properties."

2. Open the "Drivers" tab and click "Update Drivers." If this option fails, click "Rollback Driver." This repairs a malfunctioning CD-ROM drive.

3. Ensure that the media you are using to burn projects is clean and proper for that particular project. For example, if you are burning a DVD, you must use a DVD disc. Decrease the rewritable speed lower than the recommended speed on the disc.

4. Visit the Roxio website. Look under the "Update RECORDNOW 10" section and click the first "Download" button. Enter your Roxio account username and password. Download and install the Sonic RecordNow update.

5. Click "Next" at the onscreen prompts to complete the installation. Reboot your computer was the update is complete. Open Sonic RecordNow to ensure that it is working correctly.
