How to Replace Bulbs in Icicle Lights
Christmas lights come in a wide variety of styles and colors to fit almost any decor. One common type is icicle lights, which hang down in strands from a main light strand. At night, these lights resemble icicles hanging off of the roof. Just as in other light strands, the bulbs in icicle lights will burn out and must be replaced. Replacing icicle light bulbs is similar to replacing bulbs in other Christmas lights. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

-
1
Plug the icicle lights into an electrical outlet so that you can test which bulb is not working.
-
2
Identify which bulb is burned out by holding a light tester up to the nearest lit bulb, which causes the device to beep.
-
-
3
Untwist the two wires along the horizontal main line, just enough to test each wire with the light tester. Follow the wire until you reach the vertical light strand that does not light up and follow it down until you reach a bulb that does not beep.
-
4
Unplug the icicle light cord from the electrical outlet.
-
5
Grasp the bulb that you identified as bad and pull it straight out from the socket using firm pressure. Discard the bad bulb.
-
6
Remove the replacement bulb from the packaging and turn it so that the plug is facing downward. Insert the plug into the light socket until you feel it click.
-
7
Plug the icicle light cord back into the electrical outlet to ensure the lights work.
