You can easily convince your parents you need a phone by approaching them maturely and with evidence of need.

Cell phones have really changed the way people communicate with the portability and convenience. There are so many choices for types of phones, providers and plans that can fit almost anyone's needs or budget. Convincing your parents that you need a cell phone is easily achievable if you present your case in a way that parents are open to and reassured about the need.

Instructions

1. Be responsible by doing your homework and chores. A parent purchasing a cell phone is a trusting act, so you want to ensure they know you will take care of the phone and not run the bill up. Actions speak louder than words, so making your parents life easier will help show that you are mature.

2. Tell your parents about the benefits of having a phone for safety issues. Presenting facts is a way to show maturity so search for stats on crime in your area. Search the "City Rating" website for specific statistics in your area. Print the information and hand it to your parents when discussing a cell phone.

3. Offer to pay part of the cell phone cost if possible. If you aren't currently working, find a new job that you can earn some income to express your commitment to being responsible.

4. Be sincere when talking with your parents. They raised you and are keen to know when you are trying to manipulate them.

5. Print the study conducted by OTX (Online Testing eXchange) and review it with your parents. The study states that "77 percent of teens surveyed say the benefit of their cell phone is to have the convenience of communication" and "75 precent stated that the security of being able to reach family."
