How to Load Resume.dat in uTorrent

Resume.dat is a file that is used by uTorrent to resume a download that you've previously paused or stopped. This file contains the information needed by the program to resume the download without any problems. You won't actually load Resume.dat the same way you would a normal file; instead, by using the "Start" command on the torrent in question, the program will access the information contained in the file and restart the download.

Instructions

    • 1

Open uTorrent (via the "Start" menu) if you have not already done so.

    • 2

Click on the name of the paused or stopped torrent download that you want to resume.

    • 3

Click "Start" in the uTorrent toolbar. uTorrent will load the data from the Resume.dat file into its memory and restart your download as if you never paused or stopped it in the first place.
