Virtual PC 2007 is a program developed and produced by Microsoft that allows you to install multiple virtual hard disks and operating systems on your hard drive for when you want the functionality of different operating systems without needing to constantly reboot your computer. In order to create a new virtual operating system within your computer, you first need to create a virtual hard disk--or virtual partition--within Virtual PC 2007's environment.

Instructions

    • 1

      Launch Virtual PC 2007.

    • 2

Click the "New" button. This will open up a new dialog box on your screen.

    • 3

Click "Create a Virtual Machine," then click "Next."

    • 4

Browse to a location on your hard disk where you wish to create the new virtual partition, then click "Next."

    • 5

Select the desired operating system from the drop-down list, then click "Next."

    • 6

Select the recommended value option in the next window, then click "Next" again.

    • 7

Select the "A New Virtual Disk" option, then click "Next."

    • 8

Adjust the size of your virtual partition to the desired volume, then click the "Next" and "Finish" buttons to complete the virtual partition creation process.
