How to Replace a Wi-Fi Antenna
When you use a wireless adapter on a computer system, it often has a connected Wi-Fi antenna. This antenna extends the reach of your wireless connection, giving you access to more local networks. However, if you have found a more powerful wireless antenna, or if you are not satisfied with your current antenna, it is possible to replaced the device with a new, upgraded antenna.

1
Disconnect the current antenna from the wireless receiver. This antenna plugs right in (just like headphones into an MP3 player), so disconnecting the antenna only takes a moment.
-
2
Plug the new antenna into the open antenna connection port on the wireless receiver. Make sure the antenna is inserted completely into the connection port. You are able to purchase a wireless antenna at most electronic stores.

3
Restart the computer. You must restart the system for the computer to detect the newly extended wireless antenna system.
