How to Repair the Mirror on a 1999 Buick Regal

The mirror enclosure on your 1999 Buick Regal was made of a large plastic shell with a small actuating motor mounted inside of it. A plastic mirrored faceplate mounts to the motor via a ball and socket. The ball is on the top of the electric motor and the socket is on the backside of the mirror plate. If the mirror breaks, you must repair the mirror enclosure by replacing the mirrored faceplate with a new one.

Instructions

1. Turn the Buick Regal on and use the mirror control module located on the driver side door panel to turn the mirror all the way to one side of the enclosure. This pushes the other side of the mirrored faceplate out of the enclosure.

2. Slide your hand behind the exposed end of the mirrored faceplate and pull out on the faceplate to separate the ball and socket.

3. Place the new mirrored faceplate into the enclosure and push on it with your hand to push the ball and socket together.
