A remote access invitation sent to the right person can fix your error.

If you have ever been stuck to find a solution to fix your computer, you know how handy it is for a tech person to be able to actually see what your screen looks like when the error occurs. If you send out a remote access invitation from your computer, the person on the other end of the computer's Internet connection can actually view your screen on his monitor and guide you through the correction process.

Instructions

    • 1

Boot up your computer and make sure you have access to the Internet. When you are ready to send out the access invitation, you will have to be online. You can decide if you want to correspond through an online chat box or by talking through a phone. Often the phone communication is much faster because repair technicians on live chat windows are often working with more than one customer at a time and you have to allow for response time.

    • 2

Open your 'Start' menu and then 'Control Panel.' Within the options listed you should be able to find the 'System' icon. Click on it and then choose the 'Remote' tab.

    • 3

Open the 'Remote' tab and make sure the box next to 'Allow Remote Assistance Invitations from this Computer' is checked. This will bypass the firewall on your system and allow another computer to see your system files.

    • 4

Open the 'Start' menu again and click on the 'Help and Support' icon. This will open a window that gives you the option to 'Ask for Assistance from a friend.' Fill in the requested information such as the email address, the length of session and any passwords if necessary. When you receive the permission request box, click 'Yes.' You then have the option of letting them have partial or full access to your computer.
