How to Speed Up Bittorrent for LAN
Bittorrent is a type of file sharing technology that allows you to both download a file and share it at the same time. Even if your download isn't complete, you are sharing the parts of the file that you've already obtained. If you're using Bittorrent to share files over a local area network, your download speed is going to be directly related to your upload speed. If you want to increase Bittorrent's speed, you will need to make sure your upload speed is set as high as possible.

1
Open your Bittorrent client. This is the program that you use to share files via Bittorrent. Vuze, BitComet and uTorrent are just three of the many examples of this type of program.
-
2
Enter your Bittorrent client's "Settings" page. For example, uTorrent users would click "Options" and then "Preferences." Every client is different, however. Some--like Vuze--have a dedicated "Settings" button on the toolbar.

-
3
Click "Connection" to see your Bittorrent client's connection settings.
-
4
Adjust your "Upload" limit to allow you to upload at the maximum possible speed. This will allow you to simultaneously download at the maximum possible speed. In some Bittorrent clients (like uTorrent), setting your upload speed at "0" means that you will upload the maximum you possibly can.
-
5
Click "OK" or "Save" to save your settings adjustments. Bittorrent will now operate as fast as possible over your local area network connection.
