How to Verify Immigration Status
The immigration process in the United States is a long and lengthy road which must be traveled to gain American citizenship. After you send in your application there is a lengthy period where it is reviewed by immigration officials, among other parts of the process. If you'd like to check on the status of your immigration, you need only use the Internet coupled with the application receipt number you were given at the time of filing.

Open your Web browser.

Visit the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services' "My Case Status" page (see Resources).

Type your immigration application receipt number into the "Enter your receipt number" box on screen.
