Make a rocking horse in miniature!

If your daughter has a dollhouse, it's probably filled with furniture and accessories for all of her dolls. One thing that her dolls probably don't have yet is a rocking horse that is small enough for them to be set on. Such a toy can be costly to purchase in stores, so it is much easier to make one yourself. Imagine your child's delight when you present her with a custom toy that no one else has.

Instructions

    • 1

Select a toy horse. It needs to be one that a doll can be placed on in a riding position.

    • 2

Select a round plastic container. You are going to cut the rockers out of this, so the container needs to be large enough that the curve of the plastic matches the space of the horse's legs (i.e. Don't use a 3-inch container and a 6-inch horse).

    • 3

Cut two rockers out of the plastic container with a utility knife. The exact size will depend on the size of the horse.

    • 4

Glue the rockers to the horse's hooves.

    • 5

Paint the rocking horse in bright colors.

Tips & Warnings

  • Thicker plastic containers are harder to cut, but provide more realistic rockers.
