How to Make My Own Notebook Cover Page

You can make a notebook cover page with a few supplies.

Some notebook covers are made of soft paper that can tear easily. They are also usually plain. Fortunately, you can make your own notebook cover page to replace one that is worn or unattractive. You can also make a design on the cover that is as simple or as complex as you wish. The process of making a notebook cover is straightforward and it is possible to complete it in a short amount of time.

Things You'll Need

• Card stock paper
• Scissors
• Pencil
• Hole punch

Instructions

1. Remove the wire spiral from the holes of the notebook. Some manufacturers bend the ends of the spirals into hooks so they remain in place, but you can unhook them and work the spiral out of the holes.

2. Place one sheet of the notebook paper on the sheet of card stock paper. Trace the outlines of the page with a pencil. Cut the notebook cover out of the card stock. Repeat this step if you also need a back cover.

3. Place the sheet of paper on top of the notebook cover. Mark the location of the holes with a pencil. Use a hole punch to make holes where you made the marks on the notebook cover.

4. Place the front cover on top of the stack of notebook paper and the back cover at the bottom, if applicable. Insert the wire spiral into the holes.

5. Decorate your notebook cover, if you wish. You can use one of a number of design methods to make your cover attractive. For instance, you can trace a shape from a stencil onto several sheets of colored craft paper, cut the shapes out and glue them to your notebook cover. You can embellish your design with rhinestones, glitter or embossing powder.
