DIY Baby Headbands
Stretchy baby headbands with large bows and flowers are all the rage at craft fairs and children's boutique stores. You can make your own DIY baby headbands at home for a fraction of the cost of buying them in these locations. Save money and add your own personal touches to your baby's fashion statements when you make your own baby headbands. Make a base for all your child's headbands that you can use with various hair clips for an interchangeable style that is sure to match any outfit your baby owns.
Things You'll Need
- 1.5 in. elastic lace
- 7/8 in. grosgrain ribbon
- Scissors
- Needle and thread
- Alligator style hair bows

Cut a strip of 1 1/2-inch-wide elastic lace that is 15 inches long. Fold it so the two short ends meet and sew them together with a needle and thread in a coordinating color.

Cut two inches of 7/8-inch wide grosgrain ribbon. Wrap it around the sewn portion of the headband you stitched in step one. Stitch through the headband and the two short ends of the ribbon loop, leaving the top of the ribbon loop unstitched.

Take an alligator style hair bow and clip it onto the ribbon loop on your headband. Remove it when you want to change out the style of the headband. The ribbon loop holds the clip in position and makes the headband style interchangeable.

Tips & Warnings
If you don't have hair bows, make your own by glueing ribbon bows or artificial flowers onto alligator hair clips.
